I have a friend staying with us at the moment and we decided to have a night away in Vejer de la Frontera, which is a beautiful and very friendly hill top town just a couple of hours drive along the coast to the west from Jimena. From there it was easy to get to the beautiful beach at Trafalgar, which is on the Atlantic coast, and near to the town of Barbate. The sand was soft and the sea was clear and I got to sketch the lighthouse (faro en espaΓ±ol) whilst sunbathing on the beach. Perfect π
Aw, it’s lovely to have good friends staying and to show them your fave local hangouts. Enjoy π

Anji and I used to go to Los CaΓ±os a lot. The beach is great out of season and the walk up to the lighthouse is quite a treat. I can never help thinking of what an amazing, as well as terrifying, sight the Battle of Trafalgar must have been for the locals.

I actually never realised quite where Trafalgar was until we moved here!
